A listing in Best Lawyers is widely regarded as a significant honor, given to lawyers who bring honor to their profession and respective field of practice. The award is given to attorneys who receive the highest acclaim from their peers. The list was compiled by conducting an exhaustive evaluation of leading lawyers by surveying their colleagues, adversaries and judges. The list of the “most respected attorneys in practice” has been called the “best” indicator of who the top attorneys are in their area of practice and a “cut above” other lists.

Mr. O’Toole has earned this lofty accomplishment each of the last 6 years. The recognition is well-earned. He is known as one of New York’s finest trial attorneys and for fiercely battling on behalf of his clients. O’Toole has been responsible for some of New York’s top results in the courtroom including a $22,500,000 Settlement in The Court of Claims, the second largest award in that court’s history. O’Toole is also a respected voice for construction workers, serving as the Chairman of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association Labor Law Committee.
