3-car crash leaves 3 people dead outside of New York City

Monday, December 7th, 2015

Three people were killed in a chaotic and tragic car accident recently just 30 miles outside of New York City. The wreck involved three vehicles, two of which were pulled over on the side of the road as a result of an earlier wreck. A pickup truck was pulled over on the side of the road when the driver of another car struck it. The driver of that car, a 23-year-old man, stopped to provide assistance.

But soon after this crash, a van approached the scene and lost control, crashing into both vehicles. The 23-year-old was killed in the second wreck, as were two people in the van. The highway was closed for an extended period of time as the police investigated the scene, but as of yet, no criminal charges have been filed.

As unfortunate as this accident is, there are still lessons to be learned from it. The first is that car accidents can be very complicated, and as such, the investigation into the wreck is very important. If you are considering legal action against people involved in the wreck, it behooves you to wait for the results of the investigation.

At the same time, the complicated nature of car accidents, especially ones that involve more than two vehicles, require the victims to be prepared with their car insurance providers — and the insurance companies of the other drivers involved. These companies may not always act in your interests, so if you need support during this time to ensure your rights are being upheld and protected, consult with an experienced attorney.
