Recall of Honda GL1800 Model Motorcycles
According to the Associated Press, thousands of Honda motorcycles are being recalled – 145,000 of them – because the rear brakes can drag.
Type of Motorcycles Recalled
· GL1800 (model years 2001-2010; 2012-2015)
· GL1800A (model years 2001-2005)
· GL1800B (model years 2013-2015)
Potential Fire or Crash
Based on the AP report, there were eight small fires last year, but the report does not mention whether there were any injuries associated with the fires. Honda says that the brakes can drag after the rider releases them, which could lead to a fire and/or a crash.
Apparently, there were two prior recalls on these motorcycles for the same problem, in 2011 and 2014. Based on this third recall, it appears as though Honda has not been able to fix the problem.
