High above One World Trade Center, two window washers are dangling on a scaffold that is hanging, perilously, 60 stories above the ground. The window washers were working on a scaffold when a cable supporting the scaffold became loose. It appears that the workers had completed the cleaning of the windows and were in the process of being pulled up to the top of the building when the scaffold malfunctioned.
Gripping photographs show that the workers must fiercely hold on to not fall more than 600 feet. The images are frightening.
Emergency personnel have been on the scene for more than an hour and are in the process of trying to rescue the workers and safely secure the scaffold.
